The Wine and Fish Route (GR-38), which links the towns of Bermeo and Oion, has been travelled for centuries by muleteers who took fish from the Bay of Biscay inland to bring back wine from the Rioja Alavesa. Rufino Arroyabe began to follow this route at the end of the 19th century. This is how he learned fish preservation techniques, which he used in the founding of the ARROYABE canning company in 1898.
This gift box includes the most exquisite preserves of the fish that were exchanged on this route: white tuna belly, white tuna loins and salted anchovies (first choice in the table below).
